Since the development of computers and the evolution in technology, electronic communication was become embedded in the lives of many who have access to technology. We no longer feel the need to write letters or mail postcards because we can share them online using the internet.
Email and social networking sites have enabled us to have everything we need at the touch of our fingertips. In fact, we now have much more than we need. We can now know what people we haven’t talked to over long periods of time are doing.
Network Prezi Presentation
Through this course I have been given the opportunity to learn quite a bit about electronic mediums of communication. One of these mediums which we explored was Prezi presentations. I had a very good experience using Prezi to create presentations. I felt as though I was better equipped when using a Prezi in comparison to a powerpoint.
I did address some of the questions differently because my responses were in the form of electronic texts. When using a Prezi, I used less text and more visuals. That was the most significant difference in how I framed my responses.
“This I Believe” Audio Essay
The experience of creating and audio file for my essay and submitting it electronically was not as simple as some of the other electronic mediums used in this class. I recorded my essay with GarageBand. This was not difficult because GarageBand is an easy software to use.
The difficult part of this assignment was getting the audio file into the correct format to submit it online. The fact that the audio file was not compatible until I transferred it to iTunes made it extremely difficult to submit.
The audio essay also was difficult to add to this website. This was the biggest problem I ran into when creating this electronic portfolio. The audio file would not import as a music file because it was not in the right format. As a result of this, I had to use a separate website.
I uploaded the sound file onto SoundCloud. Although WIX provides the option of using SoundCloud Audio directly, it was not accepting the code for the music file. As a result of this, I had to link the website of where the music file was uploaded.
Blog Postings
The electronic medium used for blog posting was not difficult to use. Professor Shetty posted the question up for discussion and we (the students) posted our responses by replying to the original post.
There was a slight difference in the way that I addressed the questions. If I shared my thoughts orally, I may not be able to talk or elaborate upon my opinions significantly. The fact that the blog provided you with time to respond allowed me to prepare my response and elaborate on it thoroughly.

Overall, I had a great experience putting this website together. I ran into few minor problems such as difficulty uploading the music file for my “This I Believe” essay. Moreover, I had a challenge using WIX because they recently changed their website editor software to HTML5.
Since I have designed websites before on WIX, I was accustomed to the old software and I had difficulty adjusting to the new format.
